Astral Silver metallic, tan MB Tex interior, automatic gearbox, original alloy wheels, front and rear headrests, armrests, electric front windows, electric sunroof, original Blaupunkt Heidelberg Radio/Cassette player, full service history, all tools, handbooks, etc, 2 owners, only 33,000 miles.
The car was supplied to full UK specification and collected from the Sindelfingen factory by its first owner in September 1982. He was a Royal Navy Surgeon Captain stationed at the British Military Hospital in Munster, and he kept the car in Germany, registered on British Forces plates, until he retired to Hampshire in 1985. After registering it in the UK he kept it for a further 18 years until 2003, always using it sparingly and keeping it garaged. When he parted with it due to his advancing years it had covered a total of 23,000 miles in 21 years.
The second and latest owner, a classic car enthusiast from near Gatwick Airport, purchased it from a Hampshire classic car specialist in 2003 and has owned it until now, having only added 10,000 miles to the overall tally during eight years of attending car shows and motoring events in it. He has reluctantly parted with it to free up garage space for a vintage MG project.
Servicing in Germany up to 1985 was by the local Mercedes-Benz dealers in Munster and Paderborn with eight of their stamps in the book. After that there are four stamps from the specialist who supplied it to its latest owner and two from Mercedes-Benz of Gatwick. Additionally the latest owner has carried out oil, filter, antifreeze and brake fluid changes himself which are documented in the service book. The latest service was by MB Gatwick less than 1,000 miles ago, but as this was three years ago we will be having it done again before delivery. In addition to the stamped up service book we also have every old MoT certificate back to 1990 and a substantial file of service and repair invoices dating back to its time in Germany.
The car has been garaged for its entire life. Despite its tiny mileage it has always been regularly exercised. It looks and drives like new in every respect. Paintwork, chrome, weather seals etc are all pristine and the interior is perfect. The engine bay is very clean. Additional Info
